G Mayo founder of BullShinDo

It is sad to see that despite the facts the MayoShinDo group still claim on their website Mayo site - Mr Mayo is the ``Founder of KyuShinDo``.Whilst such idiotic claims do little for the memory of Mr Mayo or integrity of the Mayo group, it is an insult to the memory of our teacher Kenshiro Abbe Sensei 8th dan, a man who was a true budo legend. The Mayo group make much of a letter acknowledging a one off meeting with Abbe Sensei - Mrs Teresa Reeve the widow of Bill Reeve Sensei ( personal aide to Abbe Sensei )states that she clearly recalls that her husband reluctantly typed the letter after advising Abbe Sensei against sending a personal letter to such a man as Mr Mayo. It would appear that Bill Reeve Sensei was a very perceptive man.

I, and others, who were direct students of Kenshiro Abbe Sensei from the 1950s, we are getting really hissed off at the use of Abbe Sensei's name and photo on the MayoShinDo - KyuShinDo Karate and video sites. ""You"" are being direspectful to a great teacher, a man we were proud to be direct students of.....Kenshiro Abbe Sensei was 6th dan Karate.... he """"""NEVER"""""" take note """""""NEVER """"""""
applied the theory of KyuShinDo to his Karate. .. Your Mr Mayo 10th dan had """""ONE """""" lesson with Abbe Sensei... Mr Giardina was a student of one lesson Mayo.........Please show some respect..

Attention: Sensei Henry Ellis Sensei –
My name is Gilmartin, I was one of your students at Slough and Bracknell Sports Centre dojos. I was Mr. Goodwin’s assistant, while John Berloth was yours.I have just become aware of the bewildering tale of Jack Poole. Your account of the facts tally’s precisely with my memory of that period. I can only conclude that poor Jack has suffered a mental breakdown of some nature and lives in a delusion.Congratulations on your success, my years as a student of yours count among the best of my life.

A man who had made the study and development of the philosophy of this theory his lifes work...To Abbe Sensei KyuShinDo was the secret behind his phenominal career and achievements. Now we can see its attraction to Mr Mayo and many others, the name KyuShinDo does sound rather ``Japanesey ``..Several groups continue to promote themselves under this banner, often trying to mislead the unsuspecting to believe that they were in some way associated with Abbe Sensei.

The MayoShinDo group make much of a ``polite `` letter received from K Abbe Sensei. The letter was written by Bill Reeve Sensei the secretary and aide to Abbe Sensei. Mrs Reeve states in a letter on this page " My husband wrote the letter under protest as he considered Mr Mayo an irritating joke. Abbe Sensei wanted Mr Mayo to bring his students into the BJC in the hope of teaching them ``real `` Judo."............Perhaps given the opportunity Abbe Sensei could have taught them ` honesty ` ~ `humility ` ~ self discipline ` ~ ` respect ` ~ ` honesty `....... There are now so many myths surrounding the life of Kenshiro Abbe Sensei and his time in the UK from 1955 - 1964 ( & 1969 ) ..Unsrupulous people are using Abbe Sensei's name in an attempt to gain some sad form of credibility. Abbe Sensei's lifes work the study of the philosophy of KyuShinDo is also raped and abused..Just place " KyuShinDo" in your Google browser, you will be amazed how many have highjacked the term KyuShinDo without fully or even partially understanding its true concept.
I suppose that the name ``KyuShinDo `` does sound rather Japanesy as does ``MayoShinDo `` :-(..
